Jennifer Widom, Professor and Department Chair, Computer Science, Stanford University
Jennifer Widom is the Fletcher Jones Professor and Chair of the Computer Science Department at Stanford University. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the Indiana University School of Music in 1982 and her Computer Science Ph.D. from Cornell University in 1987.She was a Research Staff Member at the IBM Almaden Research Center before joining the Stanford faculty in 1993. Her research interests span many aspects of nontraditional data management. She is an ACM Fellow and a member of the National Academy of Engineering and the American Academy of Arts & Sciences; she received the ACM SIGMOD Edgar F. Codd Innovations Award in 2007 and was a Guggenheim Fellow in 2000; she has served on a variety of program committees, advisory boards, and editorial boards.d
Jure Leskovec, Assistant Professor of Computer Science, Stanford University
Jure Leskovec is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Stanford University where he is a member of the Info Lab and the AI Lab. His research focuses on mining large social and information networks. His investigations are motivated by large-scale data, the Web and On-line media. Jure received his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, a Ph.D. in Machine Learning from the Carnegie Mellon University and Postdoctoral training at Cornell University. Wiliam Evans, CEO, Arkeia
Bill Evans has 19 years of marketing and sales experience in the computer industry and currently serves as CEO of Arkeia Software, a provider of backup solutions for networked systems. Earlier, Bill has served as CEO of cloud storage start-up Parascale. Prior to Parascale, he was SVP of Gateway’s International Business Unit, responsible for a $500M business in Europe, Asia, and Latin America.As co-founder of Blue Martini Software, Evans drove the company from inception through IPO to $75M in revenue as SVP Marketing and, later, served as General Manager Asia-Pacific operations.Prior to Blue Martini, Evans served in various marketing and sales management roles Objectivity, Oracle, and Red Brick Systems. Evans holds an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business, an MS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT where he was a National Science Foundation Fellow, and a BS, summa cum laude, in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Santa Clara University.
