Promod Haque, Managing Partner, Norwest Venture Partners
Promod has more than 20 years of experience in the venture capital industry and currently serves as Senior Managing Partner at Norwest Venture Partners (NVP). Promod joined NVP in 1990, and has invested in more than 60 companies since he began his venture career producing nearly $30B in exit values to date. More than 20 of his portfolio companies have gone public and nearly 35 have been acquired. Promod focuses on investments across a wide variety of sectors including systems and IT infrastructure, software and services. Some notable investments and previous board seats include Tivoli Systems, Forte Software, and Kiva Software. A few of his current investments include Apigee, Appnomic Systems, CareCloud, FireEye, InsightsOne, and Yatra. Promod was ranked as a top investor on the annual Forbes Midas List for nine years, and in 2004, Forbes named him as the #1 venture capitalist based on performance over the previous decade. In 2006, Promod was presented with a Global Leadership award from NASSCOM, and he was recently honored with the 2011 SV Forum Visionary Award based on his outstanding achievements and contributions to the technology industry.
Waqar Hasan, CEO and Founder
Waqar brings 20 years experience in the Data and Internet areas, building high-energy organizations and delivering leading edge products that are delivered as software or operated as a service. During his five-year tenure at Yahoo! as Vice President of Data Systems, Waqar led and managed Yahoo!’s data platform that served all lines of business including Audience properties, Search and Brand Advertising. Analyzing data from 500 million consumers, these remain among the largest-scale systems in the world affecting nearly all of Yahoo!’s revenue streams, and have substantially increased both monetization and consumer engagement. Waqar founded DB Wizards (acquired by Adeosoft), ran the optimizer team at Informix (now IBM), worked on data research at HP Labs and IBM Almaden, and has consulted for companies such as Microsoft, Visa, Reed-Elsevier and Deloitte. Waqar received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University and his B.S. in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
